Conditions We Treat

Lymphedema

  • Often caused by cancer treatment, surgery, lymph node removal, or hereditary factors, lymphedema results in fluid buildup and persistent swelling, most commonly in the arms or legs.
  • Without early intervention, it can lead to skin thickening, discomfort, skin breakdown and increased risk of infection.

Lipedema

  • A painful fat disorder that primarily affects women, leading to disproportionate fat accumulation in the legs, hips, and arms, often mistaken for obesity.
  • It may progress to lipo-lymphedema if untreated.

Chronic Edema

  • Persistent swelling related to non-oncologic surgeries (e.g., orthopedic procedures), chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), or immobility.
  • Left untreated, this swelling can lead to skin damage, pain, and decreased function.

Our Expert Treatment Approach

Led by Dr. Dhara Shah, DPT, CLT, a certified lymphedema therapist, we utilize Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT)—the gold standard in swelling management.

Each care plan is tailored to your needs and may include:

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

  • A specialized hands-on technique to encourage fluid movement and reduce congestion.

Compression Therapy

  • Multilayer bandaging, along with prescription and fitting for ready-to-wear or custom-fit compression garments, is provided to help maintain volume reduction and prevent fluid re-accumulation.
  • Our team ensures you receive proper education and support for daily use of compression.

Therapeutic Exercise

  • Targeted movements to stimulate lymphatic return, improve strength, and restore function.

Skin & Tissue Care

  • Preventing complications like cellulitis, fibrosis, or ulceration through proper hygiene and tissue support.

Home Program Education

  • Training patients in self-care strategies for long-term success and independence.

DME Support & Pneumatic Compression Pump Assistance

  • For appropriate patients, we also assist with the ordering and authorization of pneumatic compression pumpsthrough nationwide Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers.

  • These advanced home therapy systems can support lymphatic flow and help maintain results between clinic visits.

  • Our team will guide you through the paperwork, physician coordination, and fitting process to ensure timely and effective care.

  • If you’re living with chronic swelling, pain, or disproportionate fat accumulation, don’t wait. Early and appropriate therapy can prevent complications and improve your daily life.
