Dr. Dhara Shah

Dr. Dhara Shah is a board-certified physical therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist with over 15 years of experience helping patients manage chronic swelling, post-surgical healing, and complex lymphatic conditions. She specializes in lymphedema therapy, lipedema care, and post-cancer and cosmetic surgery recovery, offering personalized, one-on-one treatment sessions rooted in clinical excellence and compassionate care.

At Form and Function Physical Therapy in Richmond, VA, Dr. Shah works closely with oncologists, vascular surgeons, and plastic surgeons to deliver safe, evidence-based lymphatic care for patients recovering from breast cancer surgery, liposuction, tummy tucks, facelifts, vein procedures, and more. Her approach includes manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), multi-layer compression bandaging, custom garment fitting, and ongoing home program guidance to reduce swelling, improve mobility, and support long-term results.

She is also experienced in managing lipedema, chronic venous insufficiency, and non-cancer-related swelling, helping patients regain comfort, confidence, and control over their bodies.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Shah enjoys spending time with her family, walking outdoors, traveling , reading, working out and supporting her husband and co-founder in their shared mission to deliver one-on-one, high-quality care to every patient.
